Keeping spare copies of important files can save you from unpleasant situations. If your data is too important to lose, simply copying your files from one place to another is not enough. In this situation, you need a specialized tool, which does everything for you. CyberLink PowerBackup is capable of creating backups automatically, according to your own timetable. It supports several backup methods and it works quite fast. Also, the software's controls are very easy to understand, so you won't have any kind of difficulties when preparing your backup operations.

CyberLink PowerBackup is free to try for 30 days and you won't encounter any functionality restrictions during this period. Installing the software does not take more than a minute and the operation does not involve any complicated settings. Also, you don't have to meet any special requirements or sacrifice too many resources to run the program.

The user interface has a familiar design and its controls are easy to understand. To create a backup job, you have to go through a four-step process, on separate tabs, which can be selected on the left side of the window. You can select the source data on an explorer-like panel. The software allows you to target one or more folders, just by clicking their corresponding check boxes. The backup's destination can be a CD, DVD or Blu-ray disc or a folder on the hard drive. Additionally, you can tick an option to include a restore tool, if you wish to extract your backed up files without running the program.

The software allows you to choose between a full backup, a differential backup or an incremental one. When your preparations are complete, you can proceed to the final step and start the actual backup process. Backed up files are stored in a single file, in the program's native format. Also, the backup task can be saved as a separate file, which can be used to compare the backup's contents against the original folder, or to set up a schedule. Depending on your settings, CyberLink PowerBackup will back up your files one or repeatedly, on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, at a specific time.

Pros

The software allows you to set up full, incremental or differential backup tasks. You may create a restore tool, if you wish to extract the backed up files without running the program. Also, CyberLink PowerBackup can run one or more backup tasks automatically, according to a schedule.

Cons

There are no obvious drawbacks to mention. With CyberLink PowerBackup, you can make sure that your data will stay safe at all times, even in the event of hard drive failure.
